A Commodore 64 emulator has been released, and it seems to work well.

There's a link for requests and license holders. I think you could add the Llamasoft games either for free or for a modest price per game.

I do agree that it would nice to see LS games on the iPhone just not sure that thru a C64 emulator is the way - I think they would be better as stand alone apps so the control interface could be re-jigged as currently I think they would be a nightmare to control. Some online leaderboard stuff would be good too.

Tend to agree - especially about control.

It's an interesting thought to see what games may work with an alternate control method that wouldn't need an on screen joypad & button.

What about Ancipital with touch screen controls? Touch and drag along the walls to move Cippy, second touch in the play area to shoot in that direction. Release touch on the wall to jump, then touch back on the wall you want to jump to.

All we need to do is figure out how to clone Yak & Giles so they've got enough time to do it ;-)

FFS they cause enough trouble with the pair of 'em as it is :)

Woohoo, looks like there's likely to be some iPhone llamasofty goodness in the near future:

While all new games would be nice, a quickish port or two of an older game (assuming control issues can be sorted out) might be an easy way for Yak to get his hooves wet. Whatever, the prospect of portable LS games pleases me greatly.

+1

My dream 'quick port' while getting the hooves wet would be of the 16 bit games with appropriate touch/accelerometer based control. Andes Attak, Llamatron and Revenge. And GR++ of course.

But whatever the results end up being, I too am rather excited by the prospect of portable iPhone Llamasofty goodness :)

Ancipital would be pretty good with accelerometer controls, I reckon. Tilt to move, flick to jump/turn, shake like mad to self-destruct, touch the screen for 'help'.

Sheep in Space seems like a natural for tilt based movement, and I notice something that looks alot like it is in Jeff's recent iPhone demo reel.

Fingers crossed :skip:

For those that haven't seen it yet, there's two Llamasoft games on the iPhone c64 emulator. I've probably (definitely) mentioned this before.

But, at the risk of being predictable, is there any news on the Llamasoft game(s) and / or framework that we heard about and saw a while back? I notice the latest screenshot of the glowing / plasma strawberry was on a Sony monitor, so presumably this hasn't got anything to do with the iPhone...

We live in hope.

I think the controls and on screen action of Espgaluda 2 suggests a GR++ iPhone version would be pretty awesome (and possible)

And there's a third on the way. Attack of Mutant Camels, Hover Bovver, and Iridis Alpha so far. It looks like Manomio is going to put the whole Llamasoft c64 collection on there for free, one game at a time. :skip:
