Excellent links Matt, much appreciated.

Development of mine is on hold until my G5 arrives, it should get here this week.

This is really impressive, it responds to audio input from the built in mic in my Powerbook. I was on the 'phone and noticed the visuals oscillating and rotating in time with my voice. 8O

Yes, that's a dancing teapot inside a sphere inside a cube. All dynamically textured and music sensitive, of course. 8)

Apple should rename this app "iTakeDrugs"

Now I want an RSS feed of my Audioscrobbler playlist zooming and panning over the top of the reactive visuals. I'm sure it can be done.

This alone was worth upgrading to Tiger for.

I HATE YOU ALL. (*)

I am trying very, very hard not to order a 12" Powerbook, because it really is a bit underpowered for audio stuff, but *damn* if the OS isn't manifestly superior to Windows.

I actually need a laptop now too, so...

(*) Not really.

This app is absolutely mindblowing. I found the presets on the Tiger install DVD, here's some caps.

It's like having a bunch of Mathmos light toys inside your Mac that dance to your music. It's incredible.

I don't know where to start, there's so much potential with this, it's outrageous. When you consider that you can import Open GL objects, footage, images, particle systems, RSS feeds, elements from local folders or streamed from the 'net, Java, C++ and wrap it all up in a GUI with Interface builder....oh my sweet lord.

I've joined the mailing list (set that up as a smart mailbox in Mail 2.0, natch) so I'll post any new resources and links to this thread and keep it updated with any cool looking experiments.

Keep the screengrabs coming, maybe we could set up a site where we can share our files?

Edit: You can play your QC projects in Quicktime 7, I found a Safari plug-in too:

Yeah I read some of the API doc last night and am mightily impressed. I managed to create some psychadelic backgrounds with twisty-turny Hawkwind album covers swirling around. :D Didn't quite know what to do with mouse input apart from turning processes on-and-off. Anyway, this app is deep. The ability to do programmatically complex things quickly-and-easily is astonishing.
