If it does, Eidos is ready to green-light Deus Ex 3 at it's new Montreal studio... The only wise thing to say is "see the demo for yourself, download it and try it".

.. it's .. really odd .. I mean .. it's really harsh ..

It's certainly a blow .. I mean "you can like or not like it" .. but I don't
think it deserves anything like that really :|

I dunno what the fuck it is apart from a deliberate attempt to sabotage SG. For what reason I have no idea. I do know that I've watched a lot of people learning to play SG over the last few months and pretty much nobody's had a bad word to say about the game.

This can only be extreme incompetence or outright attack. Don't know what or why. It's really fucking odd.

Looks like a typo, I don't think they give scores less than 7.

I can only think that the reviewer simply didn't play the game enough to give it a proper review.

Oight, here's another no-name game I've never heard of before until just now, made why, what's-it-soft? The review needs to be done in the next 10? Right, let me slap it in and give it a go. Wow, this looks like Tempest from 1980-something. [reaches into number jar] - 2 it is!

Those official magazines always suck when it comes to reviewing anyways. Like said before, the only reason people buy it is for the demo disk, which Live! is replacing anyway. It'll be a dead publication in a year or two.

Interesting... sounds like it was played by someone who just didn't "get it" - didn't play to strategically maximise score, looked at it for about 5 minutes, thought "oh, you just shoot stuff...screen seems a bit messy".

Good reviewers, even if they don't personally like a game, will still give it a fair rating. They'll usually mention that "this game really isn't for me" in their review, but will judge it based on its merits and still give it a proper score.

I personally do care about the score; I know that I am still getting Space Giraffe upon its release and regardless of the 2.0 will still be talking it up as much as possible on other forums I visit!!

I would like to read the detail of why the reviewer gave SG a 2.0.

I shouldn't worry about it. In either case it's likely to only generate a bit of interest: "2 points, WTF is going on there?" and will cause people to read about it and seek out other reviews to see what could be so awful. In doing so they'll probably become a potential candidate for buying it :D

Same here.. It just doesn't make sense. At least the rating will make people investigate the game more than with a solid 9.

You do make a good point.

Though from reading past reviews, usually something as low as a 2 is reserved for cookie-cutter games, which are essentially bad clones of already bad games from 10 years ago, with crap graphics, crap sound, crap controls, low framerate, and buggy as hell. SG doesn't seem to fit any of the above, hence, I'm a tad critical off the bat.
